WHY do you only offer SPF 30 sunscreen?
The American Academy of Dermatology recommends a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of 30 because that is the sufficient amount to properly protect the skin from the sun's UV rays. Evidence suggests that an SPF 50 or higher will not provide a greater level of protection beyond that of an SPF 30 level. We offer an SPF 30 because it provides you with the proper amount of coverage for excellent protection.
CAN I use the sunscreen on my face as well as my body?
Absolutely! Our sunscreen is safe and effective for all skin types, including sensitive skin. We like having one product that offers great protection for both the face and the body, so applying it can be simple.
DOES YOUR SUNSCREEN Have a scent?
Our sunscreen is fragrance free, so that means there are no harmful synthetic chemicals or allergy causing ingredients added to produce a scent. It has a very mild natural scent from the organic ingredients, that quickly dissipates after you apply it.
Does your sunscreen contain parabens or PABA?
No. Parabens are usually used as preservatives in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry. Our sunscreen is completely paraben and PABA free.
is your sunscreen gluten-free?
Yes, our sunscreen is gluten-free!
Is your sunscreen Eco-Friendly and reef safe?
Yes, our sunscreen is biodegradable and does not contain any harmful chemicals, so it's safe for you and the environment!
WHY is your sunscreen tinted?
Zinc oxide is a white mineral by nature, so when applied to the skin it will usually leave a white coating. We've combined our organic, non-nano zinc oxide with bio-mineral iron oxide to create a sheer, natural look that enhances all skin tones. It's powerful protection with a healthy glow!
IS your sunscreen Cruelty-Free?
Absolutely! Our sunscreen is completely animal cruelty-free, we do not test any of our ingredients on animals.
IS your sunscreen safe for CHILDREN?
Absolutely! Our sunscreen is safe for use on children. The only active ingredient in our sunscreen formula is organic zinc oxide, and that is the only FDA approved active sunscreen ingredient that is safe for use on babies under the age of 6 months.
Where is your sunscreen made?
Our sunscreen is produced in a certified lab facility in the United States.
Can I use the sunscreen with my moisturizer?
Yes, you can apply your moisturizer first, then blend the sunscreen on after. Or you may choose to blend your moisturizer and the sunscreen together, then apply them directly to the face.
DO I STILL NEED A MOISTURIZER?
That's really your preference. Since our mineral sunscreen formula has a moisturizing base or organic extra virgin olive oil, organic shea butter, and organic Jojoba oil it provides your skin with the perfect layer of moisture without feeling too heavy. In fact, many of our customers use our tinted mineral sunscreen in place of their tinted moisturizer or even their daily make-up foundation.
WHY SHOULD I ALWAYS SHAKE my sunscreen before applying it?
It's good to shake your sunscreen prior to applying it because this allows for an instant mix of all of the natural ingredients again to ensure an even application. As with any standing or stationary products, especially more natural blends without chemicals and fillers, there can be a slight separation of the ingredient elements. Occasionally, if the formula hasn't been shaken well, you may even see a few slight iron oxide streaks appear during application. This is totally normal and will blend onto the skin naturally as you continue applying it. The best part is you're smoothing on safe and simple ingredients with each application!
IS YOUR SUNSCREEN NON-COMEDOGENIC
Yes, our formula is lightweight and made of natural organic ingredients that will not clog pores and can be used on all types of skin including sensitive skin.
WHAT DO YOU USE TO TINT YOUR SUNSCREEN?
We use natural iron oxides to tint our organic zinc. They are minerals that are safe, gentle and non-toxic for your skin. Each one of our tinted sheen variations are beautiful blends of natural black, brown, red, and yellow pigments.
